Last updated: 12/02/2025

1. Introduction

The Groove Man is committed to reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable business practices. We recognise the importance of environmental stewardship and take proactive steps to minimise waste, use sustainable materials, and implement responsible e-waste management. This policy aligns with Queensland’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011 and the Australian Packaging Covenant (APCO) guidelines.

2. Sustainable Packaging

To reduce our ecological footprint, we prioritise sustainable packaging by:

  • Using recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable materials where possible, in line with APCO targets.
  • Reducing excess packaging to minimise waste, in accordance with the National Waste Policy Action Plan.
  • Encouraging suppliers to adopt eco-friendly packaging solutions and comply with Queensland’s Plastic Pollution Reduction Plan.

3. Recycling Programs

We actively support recycling initiatives to ensure proper waste disposal and resource recovery by:

  • Encouraging customers to recycle by providing clear disposal guidelines following the Container Refund Scheme (CRS).
  • Reducing single-use plastics and promoting reusability, in compliance with Queensland’s ban on single-use plastics.

4. Responsible E-Waste Management

As part of our commitment to electronic waste (e-waste) reduction, we:

  • Offer e-waste recycling programs for customers to dispose of old or broken electronics responsibly, aligned with the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS).
  • Partner with certified e-waste recycling companies that meet Queensland’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Regulation 2022.
  • Encourage the repair and refurbishment of products to extend their lifespan and prevent unnecessary landfill waste.

5. Energy Efficiency and Carbon Reduction

We take steps to reduce our carbon footprint and energy consumption by:

  • Using energy-efficient lighting, appliances, and office equipment, in accordance with the Energy Efficiency Opportunities Act 2006.
  • Encouraging the use of renewable energy sources, such as solar energy initiatives supported by the Queensland Government.
  • Minimising transportation emissions by optimising logistics and sourcing locally, following Queensland’s Low Emissions Transport Strategy.

6. Supplier and Partner Expectations
We work with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to sustainability by:

Ensuring compliance with Queensland’s environmental protection laws.

Encouraging sustainable sourcing of materials that align with the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld).
