Ortofon MC X40 Moving Coil Cartridge
The Ortofon MC X40 is a moving coil phono cartridge with a nude Shibata diamond stylus on a boron cantilever. Its Shibata stylus traces the record groove along a profile close to the original cutting stylus. The nude diamond and boron cantilever cut moving mass, so the stylus responds to fine groove changes. This MC cartridge fits moderate-mass tonearms, such as an SME IV or Graham, and pairs with a moving coil phono stage. Choose the X40 to upgrade an existing turntable with Shibata tracing without replacing its tonearm.
